CBD is amazing for all kinds of health issues but probably the most well known and most researched is its use for chronic pain. This is so important as we are dealing with an opioid crisis in America.

In 2016 there were 214 MILLION prescriptions written for opioid medications! That year over 42,000 people died from opioid overdoses and 40% of those were people who had a prescription. While some people abuse the opioids for recreational use, they are typically prescribed for those dealing with chronic pain.

However, there are natural options for help!

In our private practice we see people daily who are dealing with all types of pain. Using acupuncture, massage, lifestyle changes, supplements and now CBD oil we’re able to help provide a natural option for pain relief. The addition of CBD oil has been a game changer for so many of our patients and we are committed to spreading the word about this natural option for pain relief!

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a cannabinoid that is found in hemp and marijuana. The CBD in hemp is higher in concentration than in marijuana and it does not produce the feeling of being high like marijuana.

CBD is able to influence your body’s natural endocannabinoids to work better and helps to bring balance or homeostasis to the body. By reacting with certain receptors in your body, the CBD forms anti inflammatory effects which then help with pain. Through its interaction with the brain, CBD naturally helps regulate the pain management system in the body. The amazing thing is that it’s able to do this without building up a tolerance to it. It’s also not addictive and doesn’t make you feel high.

Anyone dealing with pain should give CBD oil a try. Finding your proper dose can take some tinkering with and we recommend that you start with a low dose and gradually work up. Many people with chronic pain will begin with either the 1000 mg or the 1500 mg.
